I can't believe May is gone. Where did it go? It was just here! But thank heaven for warm weather. It's been so nice, I've been loving it! The yard is looking great, and it's getting close to vacation time!

Today the puppies got groomed. They're so cute! It's really hard to get a good picture of Leah because her eyes are so dark you can't see them. But I have a few cute ones to share.

Speaking of eyes, Chewee has this funny thing he does with his eyes. If he had eyebrows, he would be lifting one of them. Watch closely...especially at the end.

Brothers and Babies

Hi there. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Chewbacca K. Howell. But you can call me Chewee. I'm not sure why they call me Chewee. Maybe because I chew on stuff. I don't know. Anyway, I live with my mom, Pennie, my Dad, Ken, my big buddy Brady, and sometimes my other buddy, Luke (by the way, Luke, I'm NOT mangy!). I have a great home and I love my family so much, and they love me! One of my favorite things is when we go over to Grandma & Grandpa's house. They're always good for some treats! Grandpa even lets me eat whipped cream out of his spoon!

Yesterday, my mom and dad went to work, so I went downstairs and scratched on Brady's door and he let me in. He has the greatest doggie bed in his room! Something about a sack of love...?? I don't know. I just know that it's very comfy. Anyway, I took a nap for a while, then Brady got up and got dressed and left the house. I was home alone! Well, me and the cat. She won't ever play with me, though. And she lays up on that tall bed that I can't jump up on. It's just not fair. So I went downstairs and tried to find something to do. Aha! There were pinecones in the basket by the fireplace! I pulled out a bunch of them and started chewing on them, but that got boring after a while. I noticed that there was a Smith's ad from the newspaper laying on the floor. FUN! I shredded that paper into a million peices! That was so much fun! But then I was bored again. I went and got a drink to get the taste of newsprint out of my mouth and took a nap.

When I woke up, I decided to attack mom's plant. It used to be huge with lots of white flowers on it. Ha Ha! Now it only has 10 leaves and most of those are shreded. Ha! Teach that plant to sit there and do nothing! After another nap, Brady came home. Then later, Luke showed up. He played with me and said I was mangy. I'm not! I swear! Then Mom & Dad came home. I was so happy!! Mom gave me lots of hugs and kisses. Then Luke took me for a walk. Then the next thing I knew, they were all getting in the truck and leaving me home alone with that cat again! I was sad. After what seemed like a really long time later, they were home. Mom picked me up and was hugging me, and Luke walked in with.............this!

WHAT....IS.....THAT? Is it some kind of baby cow? Maybe a skunk? Wait a minute....she has a smashed face...like mine! Her tail looks like mine, too! Oh, no! It's a puppy! Oh, that's terrible! I'm supposed to be the baby!!

Well, me & Dad had a talk. He told me that I'm the big brother now, and I have to take care of my baby sister. I have to protect her and teach her where to go potty and what to eat and what not to eat. I have to teach her not to chew on the furniture (or the plants), and to leave the pinecones in the basket.

Pretty soon it was time to go to bed. They put up this sort of cage thing and put her in it, with some blankets (hey! I thought those were mine!) and some food and water and toys. She laid down and went to sleep. They turned off the lights and went upstairs. I really really wanted to go up and lay on the bed by mom & dad, but dad had told me I had to take care of her. What if she wakes up and gets scared of the dark? So I laid down by her cage and watched her. When I made sure she was Ok, I went upstairs. I was afraid that with this new puppy, mom & dad wouldn't let me get up on the bed any more. I sat down on the floor next to mom's side of the bed, hoping...and sure enough, she picked me up and let me lay by her! YAY - all is not lost! I can be a big brother and also be the baby at the same time! Life is good!! I think we'll be good friends.....

Saturday Bath

What a great day! It was sunny and warm. Ken washed all of the screens, washed all of the windows, inside and out, and put the screens back in. I pulled some weeds in the garden, but then I got bored with it. LOL

Chewee went to the groomer today. He was pretty matted, so they had to cut him short. He looks so cute!

Doesn't he look happy? He's smiling. :-)

Time for Change

I decided it was time for a change to the look of my blog. So I found this layout and I thought it was cute. It's from Leelou Blogs. But the problem is, I can't get rid of the "Cutest Blog on the Block" link at the top of my page! If anyone knows how to remove this, please - help me out!

I'm also ready for a change in the weather. Today was so sunny and nice, but it was so cold! I'm so very tired of being cold. I'm ready for spring!

Yeah, Yeah - I know!

OK, obviously I've been VERY bad at adding information to my blog. See, we got a puppy and life stopped. :-) He's so cute! But all I want to do is play with him. So - that's my excuse and I'm stickin' with it!

Lets see...what has happened since I last wrote? Other than getting a puppy...his name is Chewbacca K. Howell - Chewee for short. He is a shih-tzu and was a tiny little thing when we brought him home. He only weighed about 3 pounds. He's 9.6 lbs now, and just as cute! He has been a huge morale-booster at our house. Every person who walks in the house is greeted with a very happy, excited dog. We took him to puppy training at PetsMart and he loved playing with the other puppies. This picture was taken probably in November.

And here's one that was the begnning of December.

He loves playing in the snow.

On a sad note...we lost our Crash-man. He got sick and we had to let him go on the day before Thanksgiving. He brought lots of smiles to our house and we will always remember and miss him.

We love you Crashy.

We had a GREAT Christmas as always. Thanks to all my friends and family who helped make it special. Ken and I have been off work since about the 18th and we don't go back until the 5th. Unfortunately, we've been sick with colds the whole time!
